I hadn't encountered Euonymus until I began to take daily walks in the wood behind our cottage. In Autumn its leaves seem almost unreal: candy floss and raspberry pink, the palest yellows and candy stripes. Now Discovering Monument Valley, Utah.
Monument Valley, meaning valley of the rocks, is a region of the Colorado Plateau characterized by a cluster of vast sandstone buttes, the largest reaching 1,000 ft above the valley floor. It has been featured in many movies since the 1930s, and the area defines what decades of moviegoers think of when they imagine the American West. #thediscoverer
