What is incorrect about this rowing technique?
Before you read below look carefully because it's subtle....
They is so much craze around rowing these days, but if technique is off you basically are just moving in and out on the erg and potentially injuring yourself.
🤔 THE ANSWER:
If you look when she comes into catch (the bent position) she loses rigidity in the trunk. The loss of tension causes the energy to leak through the hips and lumber causing the force to go backward instead of into the machine. Not only does your little boat not move forward, the SI joint doesn't really like it. ☝🏻QUICK FIX CUE:
"Put pressure in the belly and push back in one piece." ☝🏻EXERCISES TO HELP:
It's always good to have clients feel trunk tension so dead bug variations are great for this.
