🔺When sanding body lines during the primer stage, I always like to use two pieces of tape.
🔺The first piece of tape is the one dictating how straight and crisp the body line is going to be as you sand up to it.
🔺The second piece of tape is laid directly on top of it, butted perfectly into the edge of the first piece of tape. If done correctly it looks seamless like its only one wide piece of tape. 🔺I put the second piece of tape on top there so you never lose your line and it's always an exact reference. In case you need to pull a new piece of tape during all the sanding steps, the piece of tape on top will always help you keep the same line.
🔺Once you're through with all the sanding steps you're left with a dialed in straight body line that's never changed. 🔺By adding the second piece of tape it takes all the guess work out of pulling new tape lines if your original tape lines gets messed up sanding around it. 📝Note: I like to always leave the tape on there throughout all the sanding steps. Even when you clean the primer to guide coat and move onto sanding finer grits, I always work around and re tape from the original pulled line. This way all the lines stay consistent through all the sanding steps. #therefinerybyadamkrause#bodyshop#paintshop#knowledge#primer#process#refinish#sanding#autobody#refinishporn#refinishkulture#sata#3m#ppg#bodywork#ringbrothers#tylerkrauseinc#fitandfinish#tbt#hotrod#sema
