...and that's a wrap. Three weeks, eight states, more than a dozen campsites, something like 3,500 miles, and lots of catching up with pals all over the Midwest. Feeling rejuvenated and like I could definitely get used to working on the road. Also, Bodhi is a good Up North dog.
I have built two stick framed cabins and dozens of shelters, but there is something about log cabins that takes me back in time. Not to an easier time, but to a simpler time when there was a direct connection between effort and result, work and survival. This is not mine, visiting other cabins has become a passion. #selfreliance#simplelife#simplify#sustainableliving
It's FREEZING up north this morning. Quick trip to see Troy the horse (Phoebe is convinced he belongs to her, which could be interesting when it's time to pack our bags...) then off to check out a toddler cinema screening. Wearing ALL the layers. And some fake Uggs that I'd forgotten about. Handy tip: don't use mint and tea tree shower gel then step out into a cold bathroom. You will fear hypothermia... ❄️ #colderthanawitchestit

Oh friends. Do it your way. Please. Whatever sorta unique weird thing you're scared to try for your wedding. Don't be. Talk to your vendors and come up with a plan and tell them what's important. ⠀
I am over the moon in love with bridesmaids carrying a dried lavender bouquet. This weekend was our first go at it. It'll keep forever so when the wedding is over your maids have something to look at and remember the day. ⠀
Maybe its the dusty grey purple color or the smell, either way. This super simple addition was my favorite thing to design all weekend. ⠀
