Rain season has returned in #Vancouver so I was in the mood for... Note: I play in the worst upright ever. This is worse than the old Lester uprights of the 1950s and 60s. Anyway... the melody is pretty simple but the harmony requires some discipline. #singinintherain#piano#instapiano#music#sheetmusic 🎹
"There’s a lot of people that’s inspired me over the years just in different ways but when I first started paddling, my biggest mentor was Caroline Brunet. She was an Olympic Kayaker because when I saw her I was like I want to be her. She was like the goddess of everything but it wasn’t until I saw Tom Hall making the Olympics in Beijing and he won third. What’s great about our sport is that it’s so small, you get to see Olympians all the time, see people from the National team all the time and get to see those guys. When I got to see him go, he was from my club in Point Claire, and if he can make it, I can make it too, it’s possible!
My advice is, if you have a dream and you are passionate about it, there’s some people that say ‘yeah I want this’ but until you are actually down at the lowest point in your life and it’s still in your mind that you still want to do it, it will happen. Don’t strive for the best all the time, don’t just make it because you want to make it, make it because YOU want to be the best. For people retiring, the hardest thing was losing that schedule as an athlete, I’ve been doing it since I was 14 so I’m so used to the 6am and the 4pm and nothing in between so finding something else that gives you passion like I’m going to start doing surfsking, I want to try surfskiing and just what’s great is it opens doors to so many activities you can do. As long as you find something else and not let yourself just sit around and just doing something because you’re just doing it, do something that you are passionate like you were passionate with paddling." - KC Fraser, Olympic Kayaker, Pan Am Games Gold Medalist. That moment I tore my bicep and I looked over in disbelief. I still can't believe it but after hearing everyone else's stories of injuries I guess after training hard for 7.5 years it was bound to happen eventually. However I'm not going to let this keep me down. If anything I will come back even stronger. Like my tattoo says "what does not break me , will make me stronger " #5percenters mentality! #whateverittakes#willbebackstrongerthanever
