About 100 years ago, the ETH main building designed by Gottfried Semper, was being renovated. Gustav Gull, who led the renovations, crowned the building with the dome still regarded as the emblem of ETH Zurich today. It was a fitting counterbalance to the tower of the new university building, into which @uzh.ch moved in 1914.
