18 miles in shorts yesterday!!! 🙌 Of course, it looked a little different than this photo: 55 degrees, gray, and rainy. But shorts, people! I planned this week’s training purely around the forecast, for better or worse ha. My body was definitely still tired from the Disney trip, the fast finish on the half marathon, a 16-hour drive home through the night, and a tempo run the night before. But we have an ice storm today and real-feel temps in the negative tomorrow, sooo... long running on tired legs in decent weather was the clear winner. 👌
I ran a big loop through the countryside to start — 14 miles with almost 500 feet of gain @ 8:44 pace. I was drenched from head to toe at that point, so I changed into dry clothes and finished up the last 4 on the treadmill. My legs were tired, but it always feels good to have that long run done! And now I’m happy to spend the rest of the weekend on my treadmill... and I never thought I’d say that. 😂 Happy 3-day weekend, everyone!
