🔥Multidirectional bounding progression for sport performance.🔥
Training skilled movements such as 45 degree bounding is one of the top ways to learn how to absorb and produce force in a safe environment that will carry over directly to your sport-I like bounding instead of long jumps for horizontal/vertical power because it puts significantly less shear and compressive stress on the knee joint at impact-follows the “do no harm” rule-instead of telling someone to jump as far as possible, we’re incorporating other aspects such as control, balance/stability, and proprioception, which is self limiting, especially at first. If you can’t finish the jump under control, you’re jumping too far. Skills trained:
🔹Single Leg Strength/Power/Stability
🔹Change of direction power and accuracy 🔹ACL Injury Prevention
🔹Neuromuscular qualities such as stiffness and the SSC
🔹How to have fun while training-it’s not all about pushing heavy weights around-athletic drills like this are great for younger populations to teach them some coordination and how to enjoy training-it builds a good relationship between them and the training environment which can be advanced upon as they get old enough to begin seriously working on strength.
