Yes, you see it rightttt !! They are edible gold leaves on this wedding cake 😋😋. This is a wedding cake from our first wedding of 2018 in Singapore. Wonder what does this cake taste like, especially with gold on it 😂😂

@Regranned from @happeningscakes - Today 17th of January made it 4 years since we laid my dad to rest. I found my self thinking about his life and time with me (His little princess) and as I began to ponder, I realise I do so many things like him and there were lifetime lessons I learnt from him. Let me share one with you.
Dad was a farmer..a very big farmer...rice..yam..cassava..what have you. Our family was a large one too but you will never notice who was his biological child and who was not...we were all treated same way. Everything about our home was on budget..dad love budgets and you have to account for every kobo you spend because as plenty as we were in that house he was supporting us all through school...we attended the best schools around then..St Monica's college Kabba was were I attended 😀😀 still super proud of my alma mater.
As strict as my dad was with money there were things he will not look at money when he wanted to do. Some of them were buying farm tools, fertiliser, seedlings, paying staff and attending cooperative meetings where they were taught new techniques...we may not have money to eat...my father Will do these things with joy not minding the cost.
Today I find myself doing the same thing...funny but cool. I have attended 3 classes this year..and 2 more to go this January alone. I have taught only one class.
Friends the key to growth and staying relevant in our industry is being able to develop yourself and improve on the things you know daily...its a very dynamic industry. Know what you need to spend on generously and what you need to hold back on.
When it comes to developmental trainings..non negotiable. So many in the industry don't have a proper beginners class...they can't deliver a simple birthday cake nearly and instead of signing up for a class and acquire knowledge first, they save up 300k to but 25lts or 30lts mixer.. which later become a 'property' they keep at a corner of the house and just starring at it. Others rent a shop and turn it into gist centre. I call that misplacement of priority

When sourcing gold leaf to apply on cakes, always ALWAYS remember to purchase those on Transfer sheets instead of loose sheets.
Flawless application is a whooole lot easier and you’re less likely to have bits of gold everywhere (tho... that’s kinda fun too)🤩

Hello IG! First of all, I’d like to thank everyone for all of the love on my last few posts before the new year. Your support and encouragement mean everything to me. I’ve been going through a lot of things with my personal life since the new year and I’ve taken this time to spend it with my family.
