Welcome to our new edition of #fridayfaces. Here is our wonderful 2017-2018 editor and creative director, Brigitte Rein. @brigitte.s.r
1. What is your favorite thing about HLR?
My favorite thing about the Hanging Lantern Review is our spring release party. The past few years it has been held at the Dallidet Adobe—a beautiful setting for gathering with other young adults who are also passionate about the literary arts. I love to hear my peers read their work out loud.
2. What do you like to do on your free time?
Usually I tap dance. All over the place. In any shoes. At any time.
3. What is your favorite poet/poem and why?
Oh man, this is a really hard question! Recently I bought a collection of Gerard Manley Hopkins’ poems. His poetry has inspired many of own poems, especially his word syntax and sound arrangement.
#FridayFaces presents: Suzanne Struble. She has served as our Street Outreach Team Leader for 13 Years. Did we say 13 years?? ABSOLUTELY! Suzanne is one of a kind. And we appreciate what she brings to the table. Please see what Suzanne has to say about her experience with StandUp: ⠀
"My volunteering for StandUp for Kids is a purely selfish endavor. Over the years I have met all of my closest friends and gotten to know people really well by volunteering with them on street outreach. There are so many cool people who I get to connect with that I never would have met if it weren't for StandUp, tons. I also really ⠀
like getting an attitude adjustment at least once a week. It really gives you a great perspective to be out on the street seeing what other people are going through. I hope to see you out with us soon!"~Suzanne Struble ⠀
As a Print Production Manager here at CoHo for almost 5 years Brandi has most enjoyed having a close-knit group of coworkers and being able to bring her dog to the office. One of Brandi’s hidden talents is her makeup skills which helped her take home the gold at the CoHo Halloween costume contest. Brandi is also talented in pottery and has recently taken up leather tooling. She hopes to move up to making items for Cosplay and Comic-Cons in the future. Need some new music to listen to? Brandi says her favorite songs right now are Despacito and Thunder #FridayFaces

"Stand Up For Kids is a PHENOMENAL organization that has created amazing opportunities for our youths due to their hard work and perseverance in the Metro Atlanta Areas not just at Benjamin Banneker High School. Lead by an ALWAYS bubbly Jennifer Greenlee, I know that I can count on her to provide any an everything I need for my students, whether its hygiene packets, bags of food for the weekend, school supplies and extra winter clothes and blankets. Stand Up For Kids has changed many lives and give hope for our less fortunate children in the South Metro Atlanta area. Continue to make strides and encouragement in our kids and our communities.
