Yesterday I hosted the Heart Health workshop + it was so much fun! We talked holistic approaches to keeping our hearts healthy, worthiness, abundance mindset + thriving as people of color. One of the big topics was self care.. so today I took it easy. Putting in work is required to see your dreams come to fruition, but if you want to enjoy your blessings you also have to rest when you need it. Take care + stay hydrated💦
Kiwi fruit is a great heart-healthy food. It promotes heart health by lowering triglyceride levels and reducing platelet hyperactivity.
It can also promote heart health by limiting the tendency of blood to form clots.
So, eat some kiwi and help your heart!
My weight management is working!!! I am down 21 # total. 12 # of which were strictly from adding My daily multivitamin and giving my body the nutrition I wasn’t getting from my diet. The rest after adding my weight management along with it. My face is losing its forever classic basketball shape again 😂. My chin is receding as well my belly and back. I can now wear my medium shirts again and my 32 waist pants!!! The first pic is from last summer the other two are from this month!!! Not only is my weight down my cholesterol and A1C are drastically improved!!!
#NextMeal! This dish is inspired by the popular asian appetizer, Egg Roll. It's filled with veggies that require no prep. Plus, there's an alternative to soy called coconut aminos! Not familiar? The author of the recipe tells you all about them!
I make one substitution. I replace the Quorn with ground beef. Also, sesame oil is not meant to be heated. Instead, I cook the meat then use the grease to cook the vegetables. At last, I'll drizzle my finished dish with sesame oil AND a dash of sriracha 😉 Grab the recipe below. It was created by an expert in heart surgery.
For this dish, I buy shredded cabbage and broccoli slaw at Trader Joes. #NoPrep
Sesame oil is good for dry skin and constipation.

Proof that I could be captain of the sloth running team 😆 •
However, I don’t intend on staying here, but I do like that I kept my avg mhr in the 140’s. At age 43, that is my goal. Last week, according to Fitbit, my cardio fitness score had dropped to 24! 😜 I was trying to focus on HIIT only plus weight lifting, and while I know that is totally sufficient for health, I am trying to improve my cardio overall. So... I’m running again, and after just one week, Fitbit tells me I’m creeping back up in cardio fitness, and I’m at 27 today (fair). I’m not interested in being “fair” at anything I do. Feel free to hold me accountable if I don’t post an improvement next week. •

Right back from the hospital for my first heart attack, my medical bill gives me a second one. (SoftenClean is a safe, much less expensive choice.)

This rainy weather calls for soul warming drinks like this matcha latte 💚 Did you know matcha tea comes from the same plant as regular green tea? The difference is the way the plants are grown, with the matcha plant grown in the dark for about a month and then ground into the fine powder that we love to add to our lattes and smoothies! Some people find matcha tastes a bit bitter so we recommend serving it with a touch of cinnamon for extra deliciousness! 😋
Preaching the Mediterranean Style of Eating 👌🏽 Healthy Fats, Low Starch Vegetables, Nuts & Seeds, Oily Fish and a glass of Red Wine! Did you know: following a Mediterranean Diet can help lower your risk of Cardiovascular Disease. The average American lives about 30,000 days. It’s really important that we are aware of how we are living! As we wrap up heart health month make sure you are taking it easy!!!! Emotional distress increases your risk of heart disease. The opposite of Ease is Dis-Ease!
Omega Sunday - I just found out that Omega 3 lowers inflammation which is a key component in asthma! I had a few really bad asthma attacks as a kid and one of them could have been fatal because I didn’t know where my asthma pump was! Luckily my Mum came in just in time and I was fine!! But it is the worst feeling not being able to breathe! So scary! Always carry your asthma pump even if you haven’t had an attack for years!
I now take an amazing vegan blend of Omega 3, 5, 6, 7 & 9!! Which have countless health benefits! If you want to know more just let me know ☺️ #omegasunday#asthma#health#omegablend#brainfunction#hearthealth#alzheimers#lookafteryourbodyandmind
Garrett County is getting healthier, one month at a time, one achieved goal at a time. Congratulations to Gale Bosley, Lisa Ratliff and Brenda LeMay for being part of a healthier GC! #Jazzercise#hearthealth
Copaiba (This post is for INFO/FACTS, see next post for HOW TO USE & post after that for my personal experiences) .
WHAT IS COPAIBA
Is an oleoresin (a natural mixture of essential oil & resin) that comes from the Copaiba Tree found in South America. Unlike most oleoresins, Copaiba is soluble! Among many other benefits, Copaiba is a huge Immune support, a powerful anti-inflammatory, mood elevator, and reduces neurological excitement.
Think about this one for a moment: .
Copaiba is often compared to CBD (CannaBiDoil) which is often compared to marijuana, all sharing very similar therapeutic / medicinal benefits.
Although DoTERRA’s Copaiba contains these powerful health benefits, it is:
* 100% drug-free with no risk of containing THC (the cannabinoid that gets you high) and 100% legal
* Much less expensive than CBD
* DoTERRA extensively tests all products, including third-party testing. doTERRA guarantees all oils are oils free of pesticides, heavy metals, contaminants, etc. .
Now that you know this,
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
1. Supports Kidneys & Liver (including healing kidney infections & reducing liver tissue damage that is caused by acetaminophens like Tylenol)
2. Strengthens Cardiovascular health (and improves circulation)
3. Sustains proper immune response
4. Supoorts Digestion (helps w/constipation, diahrrea, urinary tract problems etc.)
5. Supports proper neurological function (calms neurological excitement)
6. Supports Proper respiratory function (aids even with problems such as bronchitis)
7. Natural Pain Reliever and powerful anti-inflammatory
8. Cosmetic use (great to add in face moisturizers for healing blemishes like acne, and creating smooth skin)
9. Possibly relief for autoimmune conditions (The research on the use of copaiba oil for autoimmune conditions is still very new and experimental. However, research is being done to see how it can act as a natural treatment option for those who suffer from autoimmune diseases like multiple sclerosis

Ever since Copaiba was released I have been so curious to experience this oil for myself & I have heard the powerful properties it has, especially with it’s similar health/medicnal benefits to CBD and Marijuana. (But discluding THC and actually legal haha). I got it about a month ago and so far these are my experiences I wanted to share with you since it is such a new oil to doTERRA and we’d all like to know lots of info and experiences. (See my last post for facts)
I started taking a drop under my tongue morning & night with frankincense as well for the extra cellular strength, and powerful anti-inflammatory properties for my wrists (I have tendonitis) and right knee (my kneecap doesn’t track straight. My wrists have been feeling much better most days and I haven’t been using Deep blue polyphenol complex anymore so it’s nice that this is working out for most of my inflammation needs.
Also on Wednesday-ish I began to get a sore throat and was really stressed. On guard, oregano and herbal tea was helping me keep it from escalating but the swelling in my lymph nodes on either side of my throat and the scratchy irritations are obviously not my fav. I read in the modern essentials book that copaiba is also used for sore throats, tonsillitis, inflammation etc. So I took it internally as usual (but this time IN my tea so the hot water would open up my pores & copaiba could do it’s thing faster) & applied it topically right on either side of my neck where it was swollen. I was able to sleep fine and woke up without the scratching (still a bit swollen) I continued this 1x internally & several times topically throughout the morning and by lunchtime didn’t have any swelling. It’s Sunday now & I never went back to any swelling :)
My Grandma has Fibromyalgia & called me recently asking how to use Copaiba. She has decided to slowly ease her way off of her medication for 6 weeks and incorporate Copaiba and Deep blue Polyphenol Complex instead. (She also takes the vitamins daily & goes through deep blue rub like crazy too) but I think it’s so cool that she is trying something new - & good for her. Go grandma Hadley!

🤓Swap the mayonnaise 🤓
Everyone has had mayo at some point, yet it’s something we should really try and do away with.
Mayo is very high in omega-6 fatty acids which when over consumed lead to inflammation. Most people get wayyyyyyyyy too much!
For that reason we can swap out regular mayo for a much healthier alternative that is quite high in nutrients and that’s avocado oil mayonnaise.
Even an avocado by itself would be a much better alternative for anyone who wanted to opt for no eggs.
