Wow!! Christmas 🎄 is one week away!! I'm excited and stressed at the same time. 😜
How do I manage my stress and anxiety?? I don't skip my workouts 💪 "Scientists have found that regular participation in aerobic exercise has been shown to decrease overall levels of tension, elevate and stabilize mood, improve sleep, and improve self-esteem. Even five minutes of aerobic exercise can stimulate anti-anxiety effects." 💫Source ADAA 💫
Instead of self medicating, how about some all natural ways of handling our stress 💕
I was a yo-yo dieter whose weight would flucuate depending on which new diet she was trying. South Beach, Atkins, Lo-Carb, Lo-Fat, and Carb Additcts; I tried them all.
I would eat minimally all day and then at night I would binge eat for an hour stuffing my face with all the things I felt deprived of all day - bread, cookies, little Debbie snacks(may favs), and ice cream. Even though this was part of the Carb addicts diet plan, it really did verge on an eating disorder that lasted over a year.
I didn't know the right foods I should be eating or in what quantities. Sugar was my kryptonite and I needed it all the time whether it was in the form of candy, cakes, pasta, or bread.
I was not very confident in myself because I was never happy with my body or comfortable in my own skin. I hated going clothes shopping. Going into the dressing room and being faced with a mirror that reminded me of the weight I needed to lose or worse realizing I just went up another size in pants.
Over the past few years I have learned BALANCE and how to enjoy food without going overboard. I can eat what I love and still maintain a healthy weight and a healthy relationship with food. I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge about the right types of foods to eat and it what portions. When we give our bodies the nutrtition it craves, it will be able to battle the outside world. Many of our chronic health problems today are related to our diets/lifestyle.
I am much more self-assured now. By reaching those challenging goals I set for myself, it validates my self-worth and my accomplishments gave me more confidence in myself. I can go clothes shopping now and enjoy trying on clothes. I can look in the mirror and feel good about how I look and not feel so fed up and frustrated.
The hardest part about making long-term healthy changes, is doing it alone without any help or support. I love this community of support so much and I was feeling better than ever. I wanted a way to share what I had learned while keeping up with my own health and fitness goals so I became a coach myself. Interested? Comment below for more information 💫
One thing I’ve struggled with most of my life is a relationship with food. I find that maintaining weight, learning how to eat then staying consistent is one of the biggest challenges. Not only with myself but many around me. With the 1,000’s of quick-fix diets out there, how can we stay consistent?!!!! How can we continue to live with a fit body and still sometimes enjoy what we like? Have we forgotten how to eat wanting to keep up with the next?
