Throwback to my first time on Hawaii as an age group next to legend Craig Alexander🤙
Calfs are smaller, ass is tighter and overall fitness better 💪😎
Dreaming myself back one day and set the bar high to go there with my pro license in 2019. All sails are set and only my limits will show if I succeed?
Achilles tendonitis is a major complaint for anyone who has tight calf muscles. The two major calf muscles, gastrocnemius and soleus, both merge into the Achilles tendon. When they are tied up in knots from repetitive strain and spasms, they put tension on the Achilles tendon, and you have pain at the lower portion of your calf, and/or at your heel where the tendon inserts
There are also two muscles: Flexor Hallicus Longus (goes to the underside of your big toe) and Flexor Digitorum Longus (goes to the underside of your four toes) that will cause pain deep under your Achilles tendon. When they contract you press your toes deeply into the pavement, such as when you are pushing off with each step while you are running.
Many times, a person will think they have Achilles tendonitis, and we find they actually have spasms in one or both of these muscles.
To treat your calf muscles, press your opposite kneecap directly into your calf, and press your calf down as hard as you can. Move your knee along the entire length of your calf, from behind your knee joint, all the way to the top of your heel. Press your kneecap into your Achilles tendon as you move down your leg.
Follow the picture to treat the Flexor/Hallicus Longus muscles. Use your fingers to press deeply into the muscles which are underneath and to either side of your Achilles’ tendon.
In both cases, when you find a sore point, you are on the spasm that is causing pain in your calf, Achilles tendon, &/or heel.
