The Memory Of Beauty

I hope things are beautiful ||
And if they’re not, then ||
I hope you remember this moment right now when they are ||
Because you’ve got to hold up each and every other moment to the moment when things are beautiful and say ||
“Look. I told you. Remember this.” ______________________________
Let’s make this a December to remember. There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.
December you’ve arrived a little to early in my book anyone else noticing the year flying past ?

Catkins brighten up the most dreary of February days. Catkin is a strange flower because it usually starts to develop horizontally but hangs down by the time it’s fully grown hence the name lambs’ tails.
Still holding onto Winter although I’m exited about the prospect of Spring happy weekend
A moment of patience in a moment of anger saves you a hundred moments of regret.

• Winter botany •
Even as winter darkens the days and tightens its grip there are always plants to find if you get out for a walk. Even on the scrubbiest patch of waste ground you'll find seedheads and late Autumn fruit and the leaves on even the commonest wild plants are beautiful. Making collections like this and perhaps even drawing them is incredibly soothing and helps to distract from daily stresses.
