8 inch bubble bowl with Shimmer roses, iris, green fugi, white tulips, heather, and pussy willows
📲 #flowershop#flowers#floreria#florist#localflorist#flowerideas#flowershoplocal#localbusiness#local#phoenix#tolleson#glendale#goodyear#avondale#arizona

This photo is a little throwback to last February and our Valentine's Day flower market. Preorders just went live on our website for this year's Valentine's offerings! The link to check them out and order is in my profile.
We are offering our amazing Quinte area customers a LOCALLY GROWN alternative for Valentine's Day. Flowers don't need to be shipped in from all across the world to be gorgeous. Our Ontario greenhouse growers are killing it in the winter and we are partnering with them to bring you guys incredible tulips and Ranunculus next week!
If you are thinking about Vday flowers next week, ASK your florist what they have that's locally grown. What IS available in February might surprise you.
Our friends at the @torontoflowermarket are partnering with the incredible @joeybutta of White Oak to bring you amazing LOCALLY grown flowers in Toronto. Track these women down and order yourself some blooms.
Having access to local flowers in the middle of the winter is such a joy, and you guys showing up and supporting it is everything.
We are excited to help spread the local flower love next week! 💐🙌🏻

Here's a little peek at what we have in store for you for Valentine's Day! All of these incredible Ranunculus are #ontariogrown in February. Their blooms typically last 10 days or so and they get more beautiful as they age, turning into intricate tissue paper blooms.
Yes, it's the middle of winter in Canada. But that doesn't mean we need to rely on imported flowers to get our weekly dose of beauty. This week we are offering locally grown tulips and Ranunculus. They are ruling the local flower world here in Ontario in February.
We are hosting a Mid Winter Flower Market Saturday and Sunday at the farmstand if you need your local flower fix. If you need Valentine's flowers the preorder link is still available in my profile and we are open Tuesday and Wednesday to hook you up.
If you are in Toronto make sure you check out @torontoflowermarket 's pop up with @joeybutta where they are serving #thisloveisthornless blooms tomorrow from 9-6. I'd be all over it if I wasn't holding down my farmstand.
It's incredible to see locally grown flowers taking their share of the market and gaining momentum. There are so many wonderful options available locally and I'm psyched to be serving up some this weekend.
Tag a Ranunculus lover to share this beauty!

What an afternoon at our farm! Today we held our last workshop of 2017, making wreaths inside our greenhouse with an amazing group of people! Swipe to see our group shot.
A propane heater kept us warm, snow covered the greenhouse for a festive feel, and me enjoy hot chocolate and treats from the @warkworthbakery . And we created together. And it was amazing.
Everyone left with a gorgeous wreath for their front door, and a smile on their face. 🌲
Truth behind the pretty pictures:
Hosting can be scary. We had two last minute cancellations after we had already purchased all of the supplies, the temperature was cooler today (and no sunshine!) than we were hoping for working in the greenhouse, we couldn't find the extension cords to have the hot chocolate HOT on time. And I'm not a natural teacher (total introvert here!) so teaching a group can be intimidating. 🌲
More truth: None of that mattered. Friends showed up to fill spaces, the the hot chocolate was ready when we needed a Mid workshop warm up, my husband lent us his propane heater, and as I lead I watched other attendees help each other as we created these wreaths. And it was all pretty magical. I didn't get a wreath finished at the workshop, but I made sure everyone else did and by the end we all had a creation we were proud of.
And really, that's Christmas right? Letting go of expectations, creating new traditions, making handmade items together, enjoying simple moments, adorning our doors with fresh boughs.
I'm so grateful to everyone who made today special.
Thank you @borntofarm_ for holding down the farmstand and looking after our customers and thank you @taniakolesni.k for these photos and for just generally being a gem. ❤️
Friends, our preorders are now closed on our fresh Christmas arrangements! Deepest thanks to each of you who took the time to preorder, support our business, and chose LOCALLY grown flowers. You are making a direct difference in the lives of Southern Ontario farmers, and in the lives of my family and small team.
When you chose us, you are keeping the lights on (quite literally) in our home and you are keeping the dreams we have for this farm alive.
Growing and working with fresh flowers is full of nothing more than educated guesses and optimistic gambles. There are no guarantees. It feels wonderful to sell out of flowers, yet it's hard to feel like you have left people disappointed. We appreciate your preorders and your support.
We will have a selection of centrepieces available in the farmstand tomorrow morning, first come first serve. We also have lots of potted Amaryllis, Christmas Cactus and mini Lemon Cypress trees available. There are also lots of Men With Blooms calendars (online ordering still available through our website for those) and Florals calendars available.
The days have been long and exhausting, but they are leaving my heart so full. Many thanks to @amiramira_ for flowering with us this month. This lady's heart is as big as her talent and flowering alongside her has been a joy. 📸 @ashleyslessorphotography#bayofquinte#locallygrownflowersarethebest

We're looking forward to warmer spring weather and starting to create our new spring collection. What are some of your favorite spring flowers?
Today has been one of those days long enough that I'm beginning to not be able to see out of my contacts anymore. I took them out, thinking 'I'll just work from bed for a few more minutes'...but what the heck is with that anyway? That desire to still work, 18h in?
Goodness. Still working every day on finding that balance between loving what I do, working hard, valuing family time, acknowledging my body's need for rest, and squaring it all with the reality that as a self employed flower farmer Christmas is my last chance for a paycheque until Valentine's Day. 4am runs to Toronto and 10pm moments in my inbox all come to an end after Christmas and self care is on my agenda then.
How do you guys balance it when you are self employed? And seasonal? And is balance just a myth? Or have you developed some solid techniques over the years?
We are prepared right now for our Open House and Christmas Market at the farm this Saturday. I went a little crazy on the insta stories today to give you guys the scoop on it. We are celebrating Slow Christmas on the farm with one last wonderful Open House. @warkworthbakery will be joining us for the day, and the greenhouse will be full of vendors. Picture fresh snow, outdoor fires burning, woodsmoke in the air and the smell of the BBQ on.
Picture long wooden harvest tables full of freshly made centrepieces. Picture handmade beeswax candles, freshly made breads and fresh cut Christmas trees.
Vendors who are offering their handmade items for you to chose from. Intentional gift giving. Farm grown flowers. Simple magic.
All of that is in-store on Saturday. And I can't wait to share it with you. Tag a friend who would love to come. And check out my Insta stories to see who is joining us!
