Travelling here my whole life has taught me how to find comfort in things that are new and different. And so I move quickly from one thing to the next. I think change in environment is one of the best ways to reset ourselves and our senses. It helps us prepare for not knowing what's around the next corner, or not knowing what might be hidden in the fog. Attitude+Belief=Results. Think about the outcomes you desire, believe in them like they're *already* happening, and then take those leaps.

Saturday mobility... don’t know what to call this flow except “fun”... becoming aware of the body and how it moves - keep the heel in contact with the ground, rotate the knee down and in and try to keep the hips square as much as possible, working on low center of gravity and rotational power and stability through the kinetic chain while keeping the chest up in a squat position aka “fun” #email@example.com@merlin.lang@gymnasticbodies@awaken_gym y’all inspire me to be strong in ways I️ didn’t imagine
Some advice I wish I’d been given when I first started out with postural yoga (as opposed to Yoga as a way of life and inner freedom) is this: Don’t compare yourself to others who have a completely different body type. Work with progressions that allow you to work towards reaching your own full/unique expression/potential. 💥
This would have saved me a lot of frustration and self-doubt. I remember looking at others doing this movement - straight leg jump back and throughs - and making it look like a piece of cake. Then women started doing it (not a very PC thing to say I know - but it’s the truth) and I felt even more doubt as to why I couldn’t do it. But there’s so much more than just man or woman. It is also about body proportions- that is huge: the perfect example is this video; if I had longer arms or shorter legs/smaller feet then I could do this easily off the floor. Also structural differences in the hips/pelvis/thoracic spine for example. Then other considerations like whether that person has done gymnastics or the like as a child, or if they have other responsibilities- family/work commitments. There are a ton of factors to consider. This is true not just for strength movements like this one, but also flexibility postures like backbends and leg behind the head postures. We have to recognise our own particular position which is full of pluses and minuses, acknowledge, accept and appreciate. 👍
Of course you can still get inspired and learn so much from others who are not like you - as we see all the time in this social media age - but it’s important to stay focused on your own progress and not worry or compare yourself to others - and like I said before - find the suitable progressions that allow you to work towards fulfilling your full potential.
