Today was almost too rainy to hike. But then there was this blue sky fog moment...

These fleeting moments....surpasses all else. Need them continually to feed my soul. A free gift to all who will but look. Thanks for tonight.

You don’t need a special outfit or shoes to hike and see our beautiful world, all you need is the right mindset and determination = That will take you ANYWHERE.

The weather matched my mood today, unpredictable. I went for a hike to burn off my anger and clear my jumbled thoughts. We didn't even make it to the false summit got too rainy and windy.... It's ok I wasn't up for being blown off a mountain today lol
Please bring more overcast days😍

Every morning, I awake torn between a desire to save the world and an inclination to savor it. This makes it hard to plan the day.
But if we forget to savor the world, what possible reason do we have for saving it? In a way, the savoring must come first ~ E.B White 📷PC: @briwithaview
A rare post where I am the subject. A storm predicted to drop 5-10 inches dropped roughly 20 and the party was on. The feeling captured in this photo is pure bliss. And focus. There are few activities out there as consuming as backcountry skiing. At this moment in time, I was purely in the present. And for that reason I will always be dedicated to the outdoors and the many ways in which to explore. Photo by @dangerous_nick

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a 522,427-acre natural playground that lies on the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains. Within the park boundaries you'll find more than 70 miles of the Appalachian Trail, the LeConte Lodge, close to 800 miles of trails, front and backcountry camping, an abundance of wildlife and wildflowers, history in every corner, and 2,100 miles of streams to play in. Needless to say, add this place to your bucket list! || Photo by Contributor @kristi_parsons#findyouradventure#outdoorproject#smokies#mountains#optoutside#exploremore#getoutside
We have until March 9th to leave public comments against the 2019-2024 Draft Proposed Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program. Make sure your voices are heard - we don’t want oil drilling off our coast. Here is our dedicated board member, Bob Bailey, at the rally against offshore drilling last week. #ProtectOurCoasts#OilAndOttersDontMix (PC: Erik Urdahl)

Climbing into the clouds last year. Haven't spent much time up high this winter, excited to be surrounded by blistering winds and snow again ⛏️ #humanpowered

Training for an ultra is not easy. I'll probably have more hours of pain, sweat and tears on the trail leading up to it than I will actually experience at the race itself. It's all a part of the process. Sometimes you're elated, sometimes you're discouraged but most of the time you are driven to finish what you started regardless. Today's long run was just another lesson in doing just that. I ran 24ish miles by myself, barely another soul in sight, with fire in my hips and glutes every step of the way, very few calories in my belly, frequent thoughts of the redbull waiting in the car for me and a huge smile on my face. #SWAPteam#beunstoppable
We know, we have been slacking hard with posting but we have been very busy getting stuff done with the van. Since the last post who knows how long ago we have fabricated a solar rack for the roof, ran all wires for lighting and fans. Got the batteries all hooked up and charging. I would have to say this has been one of the most difficult projects to take on with this van (besides the overhead cabinets. More on that later) Nonetheless it has all paid off, with a touch of a button WE HAVE LIGHTING and working fans! 🤪
Annie and I just got off the trail after four fantastic days trekking through Los Glaciares National Park near El Chalten, Argentina. We were blessed with excellent weather and incredible views along the way. The highlight of our trip, pictured above, was watching the sun’s first rays hit Fitz Roy after a 5am headlamp hike to Laguna de Los Tres. After taking a bajillion photos, we treated ourselves to coffee and breakfast with Fitz Roy as our backdrop. Not a bad way to start the day! 😍🏔🙌 #fitzroy#losglaciares#elchalten#cleverhiker
Tomorrow morning I’ll open the door to a fresh map and begin a journey of a thousand miles with a single step into the Smokies. My hope isn’t to complete every trail in the fastest time possible, but to document each trail and section of the park as much as possible in words and photographs. Tomorrow’s trail and section of the park is filled not only with beauty, but with layer upon layer of history and ghosts of the past. I hope to bring back a camera filled with charm and glimpses of a life that has passed, but won’t soon be forgotten. 💚
Can you believe that this is in the Bahamas? Eleuthera really surprised me - I expected beautiful beaches, of course. But then there were also so many other fun things to do like this interesting little trail that led to Preacher’s Cave. I felt like I was in Jurassic Park 😂😂 Has a vacation destination ever surprised you when you got there? Have you ever been to the Bahamas?
We had a great Valentine's! Enjoyed some luxery trailer life! ♥️♥️ #sackclothxashes

∞ Nature is the one dependable constant in this life. No matter how much we disrespect it, debase it, or attempt to stomp out its light; it will always be there for us to escape to, and to keep us humble. To perpetually remind us that there is a story being written here much more significant than our own, operating on a timeline we cannot possibly contemplate ∞

The wildfire smoke added a unique glow to the setting sun.. The salt flats are kind of like the other Utah desert to me. It's so surreal out there.
