My goal is to give back to veterans by sponsoring them on a wide range of hikes and expeditions, Yosemite definitely being on the list

High vs Low
Happiness vs Harships
Mountains vs Mosquitoes
We are getting our backpacking trips for this summer planned, and half the fun is thinking about how to shift the balance towards more highs and fewer lows. The gear, time of year, and itenerary all play in to the odds of having an amazing trip. Last year, we went to the Wind Rivers. We thought we had the time of year planned just right. Still, an unusually high snowpack meant that we were wading through mud, snow and swarms of mosquitoes to get to our destination.
We love this image from that trip to Titcomb Basin, which was unusually wet for August. That backdrop of mountain peaks is easily one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been. Look closely and you’ll see a swarm of mosquitoes almost flying in formation like a bomber squadron. Head nets and industrial strength deet made it bearable, but we still came back with a ton of mosquito bites to go along with some great photos and memories. We’re happy to pass through a few low moments to chase those outdoor adventure highs.
I think it's important to do things that make you feel small, that humble you, that remind you of the power and grandeur of nature. That's why I love canyoneering. On rappels like this, when the earth swallows you whole and you're consumed by a carefully sculpted cavern of stone, you can't help but feel incredibly insignificant. And in a world where all we want to do is feel big, that is a beautiful thing.
If you haven’t explored the PNW, I highly suggest putting it on your bucket list! 👌🏼

For the last four months we have been on the road traveling for work and clinical, but we’re finally heading back home to Miami next weekend and we couldn’t be more excited! First, we have a quick pit stop in New Orleans this week! Any suggestions of what to see/where to eat?!
half the time people mistake me for an emoji🚶🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ oh, and I know I got nominated to post 5 facts about myself, don’t worry I’ve not forgotten! I’ll be posting them to my story by Sunday, aka all I have planned for the weekend so far😂 (jk, we’re probably going car camping with the munchkin) what have you got planned this weekend?!
