I know we shouldn't deny our feelings to ourselves, but it's hard to show our true colors when the world around us is looking, when someone is actually paying attention. And sometimes hiding feels like the only option.
Endings give you wings. 🦋 .
I don't swallow loss easily. Who among us does? I've seen myself hoard friends, objects of beauty, words, opportunities in fear they'll all go away. I've often found the opposite to be true. Sure, jobs shift, quarters end, some relationships last and others don't, my body shapeshifts from season to season, but life is teeming with love and beauty, challenge and growth. Un-weight yourself and fullness from unexpected places rushes in. Endings are emancipations. And I recognize I'm saying this from a place of relative security. Last month all I saw were bare trees and closed doors. My home is standing, and the man I love is inside. Flames are far away. So, if your loss/weight/ending is too heavy or sticky to discard just yet, keep breathing. Take faith in the promise of freedom to come, and one day, it will slip through an open window, a feather falling in the frame. You'll chuck bottles out to sea, cut your hair, but a ticket, open a journal, call your mother, sign the papers, take back your body with each deep breath, and you'll know. Until then...loving you now. 🙏🏻

You are enough. 🌀
You are practicing enough.
You are studying enough.
You are doing enough.
You are creating enough.
You are social media-ing enough.
You are exercising enough.
You are connecting enough.
You are to-do-ing enough.
You are giving enough.
You. Are. Enough.
Because we could always do...serve...be more. But for now, today, enough. 🙏🏻
In this busy holiday season, may we slow down enough to feel our truth: We are enough. And may we wear that light, silk robe of softness as we move through our day, no matter the color of the sky or the fullness of our calendars. I see you, and you are enough as you are, right now. .
