25km training run along banks the the Thames. Loving ultra running training firstly because it's all on trails and mud and secondly (and now importantly) it's not about time it's all about long and slow running which is perfect for me. #ultrarunning#thisgirlcan#longandslow#proud
Hihetetlen boldogság és büszkeség amit most érzünk.
Ígérjük, megháláljuk a bizalmat.
Gratulálunk a többi jelöltnek, éljen a magyar bor!🍷
We did it!!! Our longest run to date - 16km 😬💪🏼 we won't lie, we did NOT want to go this morning as it was so cold and we were so apprehensive about whether we could mentally run that distance but we did it! We found it helped to break the distances down so we went as follows:
1-6k it was cold, so very cold! We had brought a bottle each but carrying the bottle turned our fingers to ice, we decided that next time we'd put warm water in! After the first km we got out of the wind and into the woods and we got into our stride. The time passed quickly as we nattered and enjoyed the countryside.
6-11km 2nd lap of our route and this was my favourite part of the run! We completely lost track of time, we ran past the same walker for the third time which seemed to really confuse him! We raced a dog and had a brief 20 second stop to stroke a very cute puppy. Lots of giggles and gossiping again made the time pass quickly and we finally warmed up! Felt like we could run forever.
11-16km - I was expecting this third and last lap to be hard work....it wasn't! We were so surprised at how easy this was, we felt like proper runners! We kept our pace steady and both agreed when we finished that we could have run the extra 5k to make it up to 21k, half marathon distance.
So we are feeling so much more confident about the #halfmarathon next month. Before today we have only run 12k and that was on the treadmill but knowing we can do a slow but steady 16k in 1hr50 fills us with confidence for doing the half marathon in under 2hrs20 which we'd both be really proud of!
