Blake came to cheer me on at the Eugene half marathon after we’d been dating less than 4 months. He said he’d be at the halfway mark. Instead, he was somewhere close to mile 8 and I was good and ready to see him. 👀 (anyone feel me on this? Someone says they’ll be at a certain point to see you in a race, you SO look forward to it!) Anyway, he made this sign. So, as soon as I saw him with this GLITTER sign, my heart couldn’t handle it. I stopped for a hug, ditched my sweatshirt, and as I was running away, I hollered, ‘I LOVE YOU!’ 😳🤔 4 months into dating and apparently my subconscious decided it was time to drop the L bomb. During a race.
Needless to say, Eugene holds my half marathon PR + Blake happily reciprocated the sentiment after the race. 😘
Oh yeah. On another note. 15 Miles this morning with 11 at marathon pace! Hence the pose. I felt like f*cking Rocky.

Wrapped up a glorious week of client bodywork therapies at the spa, and another cross training session with a relaxing lap swim. The fact that I am able to swim outdoors in January with 70 degree sunny weather makes me feel super grateful. Having this week entirely off from running for the first time in months, provided much needed rest, time to reflect upon what I’ve achieved thus far, and my upcoming goal. Also, a newfound excitement to incorporate swim and cycling into the training routine. Forgot how much I enjoyed these activities. Do you personally gravitate to one fitness activity? “I get by with a little help from my friends.” It took a while but I finally got to step into @rippedtrainingmethod on the UES on Thursday morning and take the 6:30AM “Ripped All Over” Class with instructor/@teamsaucyAF teammate @matthewlukemeyer. After an early 5:00AM training run with @kellmariesull we topped off the morning with Matt’s class that had thinking why I don’t strength train more.
I run often but I know strength training hasn’t been my strongest attribute (pun intended). The class is perfect mix of cardio and weigh training which is perfect for marathon training. One month from today, I'll be running my first half marathon. I really can't wait. I feel like my runs are getting better, especially the longer ones. Sunday I'm increasing to eight miles and adding distance every week until the half marathon. 😎
The forecast kept changing but we did end up with 40F at runnin’ time! Got in 3.4 miles with some threshold effort and a modest uphill on the way back. Gotta get those hard runs in because the sidewalks might be icy tomorrow.
