This is an old RAF training base which has been turned into a new build housing estate, luckily they kept the old track. Although they just shoved a load of concrete on the top, but it’s good as a base for some 400m reps.
Today was training with @andreameek13, who is running @londonmarathon for #VICTA (as is @ianrunsldn - check out their pages and sponsor them if you can!)
Andrea’s plan was 12 x 400m at 8:30min mile pace. I’d figured I could run 400m then use hers as recovery’s.
That didn’t work at all as 8:30 was way too fast to recover, so I then went to “normal recoveries!” which were recovery drags in the end 😂
I always start out conservatively with reps as I’m so scared to burn out and actually got faster on the last 6 laps.
I love the feeling of not being able to give anymore; that burning in your lungs and thighs and hammys! I’ve missed it so much.

Good morning happy tuesday friends! Went to the gym today and started with 3.02 miles on the treadmill today and was able to stay at a sub 8 pace the whole time 🙌🏽 then did 40 minutes of leg and ab workouts 💪🏽 have a great day ☺️✌🏽
Nothing makes you feel more out of shape than your first track day in months with 16 mph winds. But it will only make me stronger, right?! Well let’s hope so because I don’t think I’m going to be able to move well for the next couple of days. I did a two mile warm up (uphill getting to the track) 12 x 400 with 400 recoveries in between with a 1.5 mile CD. I never came anywhere near my goal paces, but I’ll get there with consistency and patience. I’ve done it before, I’ll do it again. Oh and I had a track day without any skunks or raccoons chasing me 🙌🙌
This morning I almost let my excuses and a negative attitude get the best of me, but I told myself to suck it up, went downstairs and pushed play, and now I am determined to change my mood & have a good day 🙂 Happy Tuesday 😘 #teamloveyourjourney
So the 60+ degree weather has returned to the QC - and THIS girl most certainly is NOT complaining. 🙋🏼⠀
However-- I think about how I felt shooting this epic snow pic last week (in spite of the facial injury that occurred) -see my Facebook LIVE for THAT explanation 😵⠀
Even though all this beautiful white powder has melted, and I really do complain a TON about the cold---this city was DRAPED in beauty for 48+ hours, and I LOVED IT. ❤️⠀
I loved seeing the pictures everyone posted. I loved seeing my kids (not to mention my sheepdog 🐶) so happy playing in all of it. I loved the way the sun lit everything up like a sparkling showcase of shimmering magic. 🌟⠀
And I loved that everything was put on hold for a moment.⠀
And there was so much joy. ⠀
So here is to snow days in Charlotte. I may complain, and argue, and be uncomfortable when it's winter in the South. But MAN -- I could take a couple more of those moments before spring comes once more. 🙏🏼⠀
#transformationtuesday // 10k in 2016 at 20 weeks with Baby 1 —> 10k in 2018 at 20 weeks with Baby 2!
Grace was a passenger for both these runs, she’s just a liiiiiiittle bigger this time around! 😂
But really, I’m SO grateful to have enjoyed two healthy, active pregnancies thus far. And some days I really take it for granted. Two slow and kind of struggle bus 5k’s this weekend kind of had me down...but looking at this side-by-side reminds me that it WASN’T easy during my first pregnancy, either. I actually ran last weekend’s 10k 3 minutes FASTER than the first one, despite pushing the stroller and a 30-pound toddler. I improved so much while training postpartum, so I seem to expect more now. NOPE!!! Pregnant running is still hard! That’s the reality, whether you’re used to running a 6 minute mile or a 12 minute mile. It’s okay. We’ve just got to keep putting one foot in front of the other! 🙌🏼🤰🏻🏃🏻♀️🙌🏼

***REVIEW TIME!!!**** 👊👊
I hopped straight from the gym onto a train to London, so raided the vending machine for some post-workout snacks by @proteinbymars and @noccouk ... (After @natacha.oceane Move. Upper body and Core, I needed them!!) 😂
***BOUNTY MARS PROTEIN****
This was a smallish bar (51g), that looked a bit pathetic with a very thin layer of chocolate, but I could immediately smell the coconut when I opened it! I was slightly confused by the nougat inside, which is v different to the normal bar, but it had the same taste as a bounty and there were some rogue coconut flakes. It didn't taste like a protein bar at all though, apart from a slight tang right at the end. Better than expected!! (7/10) 💪💪

bought on a whim, this was a very strange coffee-flavoured drink. The coffee was not really present, apart from an artificial taste and the presence of artificial sweeteners was really obvious... A bit sickly, and the amount of whey protein in such a small drink (235ml) made it very drying to the palate. Not a great one, unfortunately! (4/10) 😎😎

Hello happy runners✌
Have a beautiful tuesday😄
I think so I run (me😆)
Live😄 love❤ and run🏃
Gorgeous snowy morning in Boston (though this shot is from earlier in the year) ❄️ And as per usual, my Wednesday morning started with a 5 mile run 🏃🏻♀️💨 and a 2,000 yard swim 🏊🏼♀️ I used to get sooooo stressed out about swimming: I’d kick like crazy lest I drown otherwise 🙈 These days swimming is my getaway: I feel safe and warm in the water 💖 There’s a sense of serenity, as I glide, suspended and weightless 💕🌊 @stephen.born and I are going to California in a month, and I’m so hoping that the ocean may just be warm enough to swim in 🤞🏻🌟 #riseandgrind#morningrun#snowday

#snowday today!! This is rare for Houston but the second time this season! When it snows in Houston offices and schools close! Ha ha! It’s been a cozy day at home with my mini and I just finished my workout on the treadmill 🙌 Now it’s time for #candyland and hot chocolate! Speaking of hot chocolate...12 days until the @hotchocolate15k

Good Morning, Friends! This was my first tempo run in a very long time and it actually went better than I expected. 4 miles at 8:20 pace then 4 miles at 8:06 pace. I kind of set my paces slow on purpose, but faster than I have been running. Next week I will cut them down some more! I hope everyone has a great day! 😊💕💕

After receiving the news that I have a complete tear of my ACL from the @rundisney Super Hero Half Marathon last September (the one I placed 2nd in), I needed a long run to process that information. Should I be running on a torn ACL? Probably not. Did it stop me from today’s training run? Absolutely not - because today’s run wasn’t about the speed or the distance, it was about the therapy session between me, myself, my music and the trail. The overcast clouds in the Bay this morning perfectly reflected how I’m feeling right now- I’m in a fog. But towards the end of my run the sun was starting to shine through, and as I finished my run, I was proud that I was able to complete 14 miles. My knee was taped and bandaged like crazy, but I completed my miles. I’ve made it back from an ACL injury two times already and as they say: third times the charm 🤨so until my surgeon says I can’t run, I shall continue with my training, taking each step with just a little extra caution. Wish me luck!!
#runstreakday16 called for 8x400m repeats @ 5k pace with 200m slow jog recoveries. Apart from my pace goal for 5k (~7:10), I also had a mini goal of finishing the 5 miles total in 43 minutes or less. Couldn’t have been more spot on! 😂
