Back to the desert with all the little bears. A couple of days chasing sun before mama bear bounces over the Pacific for a few weeks of well deserved, solo, Southeast Asia adventuring. My hands will be full but not anymore than hers typically are. That said, I'm looking forward to it. We've learned through the years, that a lot of relationship strife comes from feeling mutually overworked, and underappreciated. Not that we've got things figured out by any means, but sometimes a change of scenery and a shift in the structured roles of domesticity can add clarity and perspective, and can foster fresh appreciation for everyone's efforts. At the end of the day we're both just trying our darndest to keep the cubs alive and from not joining society's pool of little A-holes. And maybe helping them to feel strong, safe, beautiful, and empowered if we can swing that too. (Also to know how to make fire, appreciate good cheese and bread, forage for snacks, identify venemous critters, tie tactical knots, and use a walkie-talkie). All of which can often feel like an impossible task.... except for the cheese and bread part. Sometimes it can help to shake things up a bit. We'll see...

Running Can Solve A Lot Of Problems. Like If You Agree!
RAGNAR CREW ASSEMBLE - Today I ran a cheeky little 1.7 miles which represents 1% of the 170 Miles that each team of 10 will be covering on 22nd - 23rd September 2018 at @ragnarrelayuk
Alongside my Ragnar Ambassador Winglady Dana @dmshockman and hopefully the other Captains @burgessking1@chappers_london@never_quiting we are starting to get the squad together and planning the Ragnar takeover again!
Last year we ran 4x Teams and would love to do at least that again this year.
More details to follow in further posts, but to get an idea of numbers can you comment below if you are interested in joining this awesome squad for Ragnar 2018 🙌🏻 Any questions give me a shout 😊
Time to get this party started and hype it up! This weekend will be one you never forget 🙌🏻 Much Ragnar Love ❤️
You know you’ve reached a new level of running buddy status when you agree to run the next day & don’t need to mention what time 🏃♀️started off on the struggle bus, but @sojerseyallie got us some negative splits 👊🏻
😃 #runner#runningmotivation#runningmom#mujermotivadora#vamos#vamospormas#vamosacorrer
Community. Connection. It’s why most of us say we love social media, yet we quickly scroll and tap without getting to know each other.
I want to get to know you!!! I want new folks to get to know me and I think you’ll find others you connect with here too!!
Day 1 let’s kick it off with a super easy one: where do you currently live??
See someone who lives near you, check them out! You might find your new running buddy (it’s how I did it!!!)
I live in Denver now! And if you share more on your feed, use #teamrttf and I’ll come say hi!!
I don't have to worry if I'm good enough at the things I do in life. I just need to keep getting better at being me.

Nothing like getting in a great workout in before the sunrise 🌅 #5amclub || working in my 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣8️⃣ goals so I am back to doing the @toneitup#tiudailymoves || when i was consistently doing the daily moves last winter I found that my running improved so much. Stronger 🏋️♀️Fitter 💪🏻Faster 🏃🏻♀️
I unexpectedly took an (exciting) job at an (awesome) new-to-me gym this week as head personal trainer. While there is always room to learn and grow, I'm confident in my abilities and knowledge as a fitness professional, and absolutely ready to not only tackle this new job, but thrive in it. At some point, though, I found myself comparing myself to some incredibly fit trainers who compete in physique competitions. I quickly got down on myself, wondering if I was "good enough" or "fit enough" to deserve this new higher-ranking-on-the-gym-totem-pole position. I mean, compared to them, I don't LOOK the part.
And that's where I stopped myself. . . I lift weights, heavy at that, at least five days a week. I eat well balanced meals. And I run freaking ultra marathons. Hell, I've got a 100 mile race on the calendar for next weekend. ONE HUNDRED FREAKING MILES. I don't stretch as much as I should (oops) but I take care of my body, and I love what I do. I think we have become so brainwashed in our society as to what "FIT" looks like, that we quickly forget there are a number of components to physical fitness (muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and body composition) as well as multiple components to health (physical, social, cognitive, emotional, cultural, and spiritual health). .
In that moment I was no exception to succumbing to societal "norms". .
Point of my rambling? A reminder to everyone (self included) that being healthy and fit does not have one standard physical appearance. It can be so many things, and it is affected by so many things, including but not limited to, training specificity and genetics (yeah, I went there.) That extra bit of body fat? It keeps me warm and fueled on overnight runs, 16 hours into a race. These muscles? Maybe they aren't "cut" enough to rock the cover of a fitness magazine, but they relentlessly climb mountains, and they do it well. . .
Love yourself. Strive to be a better version of yourself every damn day, but don't play the comparison game. . "Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is you-er than you."
#sundayisrunday#nevernotrunning#noexcuses

I am currently obsessed with my new #visorclub visor 😄 from @racecheck - I hope I haven’t worn it out before the summer sun arrives 😂
If you fancy a new race have a look and read the race reviews from people that have run them 🏃♀️👍🏼 (and if you’ve run any races get reviewing them and you too could win a place in visorclub 👏

Less than 24 hours left for the @chevronhoustonmarathon !!! The nerves are kicking in! 😱☺️🙌🏽 My biggest decision right now is figuring out what to wear tomorrow 🤣 It’s going to be a cold #HouMarathon ! Download the Houston Marathon App to track your fellow runners using their name or bib #. Good luck to all!!!

I did not enjoy that at all!! For the first 3 miles I wanted to turn around and go home, but I kept going thinking it would get easier but it never did. It's runs like this that make me question why I'm doing this and how I'll ever be able to run a marathon 😕 But I got the 9 miles done that were on the plan and week 3 of marathon training is done 👍 #thatwashard#gotitdone#stickingtotheplan
