To be enthusiastic one must first act, enthusiastic. - Frank Bettger...this qoute had become a lightbulb moment for Maggie as she had recently been told by someone she looked up to that she was a bit of a drag. She hadn't known how to deal with this remark or even what to say in response. Upon arriving home that night, she was greeted by a warm embrace from her kindly bright eyes mother who upon seeing her seemed to become even more brilliantly lit as she exclaimed "How was your day Maggie?" Looking her directly in the eyes. It was a gaze that could make the coldest detest hearts turn to overflowing hot springs. Without a word Maggie began crying and recounted to her mother the story of what had happened, how she felts unsure of herself and didn't know how to react. "Do you think you're a drag?" Her mother asked. "Is that why this is so hard for you?" She prompted. "I don't know, maybe a little bit" Maggie said sheepishly. This was when the light bulb turned on, as her mother stood up, wiping the tears from Maggie's face with her handkerchief. She pulled Maggie to her feet and said, "Maggie, to become enthusiastic about life, you must first act enthusiastic". She started chanting this over and over again louder and louder. At first Maggie thought this was strange because it seemed so out of the ordinary for her mother to have this much energy. These doubts quickly melted away as Maggie began to feel her soul lift and spirits rise. Something inside began stirring and she joined I with her mother as they held hands and began dancing around the room twirling and whirling. They fell over exhausted breathing heavily on the sofa. Grinning the biggest grins they had ever grinned. Her mother looked at her and said, "Feeling better love?" Magee replied cheerily, "I sure am, thanks mom". There was a pause, then her mom said, "Wonderful, now you can do your homework". •
Enthusiasm is contagious, spread it everywhere you go.
Becoming conscious is the pathway to self love. Through mindful introspection, we can peel away the layers of bullshit that have controlled and separated us from our true selves throughout our lives. It sounds simple, but it’s not so easy to do because our egos have a way of protecting themselves by making it uncomfortable for us to actually do the important soul work that is necessary to wake up from the trance like state of being that many of us experience day in and day out. •
It’s estimated that most people are operating from their subconscious minds 90 to 95 percent of the time. This means that we are on “auto pilot” doing routine activities without consciously thinking about them. This saves us mental energy on the one hand, but the price that we often pay is the loss of our free will. If you don’t question your reality, you will end up living someone else’s. In “The Four Agreements,” Don Miguel Ruiz talks about how we are domesticated to automatically think and behave in certain ways. This is one of the reasons that we get so off track in our lives, sadly living out of sync with our souls.
The next evolution for humankind will be through higher consciousness. Those who learn how to master their conscious minds, their subconscious minds and their intuition will be the people who excel in life. Through the integration of their conscious and subconscious minds, their bodies and their spirits, they will experience higher levels of health, wealth, love, happiness, peace, creativity and satisfaction. For them life will become a Total Soulful Journey. In my next post I will dive into the subject of “Conscious Relationships.” I hope that you will join me. Happy Friday and Saturday, my friends!!
