#Poem : #BrokenSmiles
By the girl with the broken smile above 🙋🏼♀️. ●
Through the cracks of that shack you call your own habitat,
I can hear the squeaks from the storm setting in.
Some must intake the #real
Some withhold from within.
When #raindrops wash all the dry tear marks of fear from your face,
Paint a #smile I can actually feel.
Ask not how nor why,
But with your #drive high gear,
light a cigar with all substances that never let you #cheer
Burn away before a #horizon of hope.
Let that #sunset just seep through when cracks fill with a #dope
That for longer you cope,
Will make life #sing for the birds
And the bees.
Let the wind boost your #high
Like #medicinal leaves
From #trees that provide a comforting ease... They allow us to #breathe
With expression-like breezes,
or the calm of the #sea
Before dust devils climb to one thousand degrees
And our soles make it past all the #smoke and debris...
We'll look all around,
With no #future to see.
When that first ray of #sunlight starts blinding your face, may it leave the burning lust for hope.
Don't let it ever be replaced by #fate derived by weight from #thoughts of short ropes!
Though your #struggles are dark,
Soon the outcomes #shine bright
So keep those bright whites in sight even after the fights.
Then dust off your boots
And step back in the #wild,
Where reality's cold,
#bittersweet dreams: worthwhile
And the #forecast not often is comfortably mild.
For only #broken smiles
Can weather #storms of this kind
for the next thousand miles.
So for the love us US, more than every once in a while... #SMILE. 💛 📸: @visualistdepiction
