Confirmado, son máis de carreiras máis largas e con menos xente, pero aínda así foi unha boa forma de despedir a década e entrar con bo pé na siguiente 😊 disfrutando, facendo o que me gusta e conseguindo obxetivos.
Not terrible swim yardage for the week considering i turned 40 and got engaged in there too. Still recovering from an injured achilles last week. I’ll take it. Next week will be epic, count on it. #triCHRIST
How excited I look in this pic is how excited I am to be doing a last minute open water swim with @jenbleloch this morning 😑😂.
Seriously, Jen called me at almost 10pm last night asking if I wanted to join her in a swim at Clifton 4th today - I said no but then, literally, was awake for HOURS, tossing & turning, constantly waking up, anxious at even the thought of the swim.
Why so anxious? I've spoken about this previously in another post (why I've decided not to do the triathlon in Feb - pressure > sense of fun). But maybe it is also the culture of expectations, competition, achievement & success (even though I know I am only competing against myself & my goals are to enjoy the events I still have this ridiculous fear of failure) - maybe this is all just "middle child syndrome" 😅.
Jokes aside, while I am able to avoid or overcome this anxiety but choosing just to train & not enter for events (is this really a solution? 😂) - except for today, because friendship & adventure > anxiety - generally I tell my students (when they are stressed about exams) to gain some perspective.
Perspective - no matter what happens the sun will still rise, the world will still turn, life will carry on regardless. Don't let this single thing of a couple hours define you as a person! In the long term it doesn't matter.
Other tips for dealing with anxiety - critical self-reflection (some practice mindfulness), writing to-do lists, going for long walks, exercise (!), praying, listening to music, taking time out to relax & read (or do something that is not work or that causes you stress), honestly sharing my struggles with Ray, asking for help if needed, chocolate (!!) 🙂.
After suffering a sleepless night I've decided to JUST DO IT - why not?! I'll be the wimp in the wetsuit 😁.
What a lovely start to our Sunday with extensive media coverage. A centre spread feature and other articles featuring The Goa Triathlon 2018 in the news today! Delighted with the wonderful coverage of the event by the Goan media highlighting this beautiful sport! 🏊♂️🚴♂️🏃♀️ #GT18
Meet one of the newest editions to our coaching team @damo_jeffery. Well known in the triathlon scene as a pocket rocket with many achievement under his belt we are so excited to have an athlete of this calibre on our coaching team.
After pursuing a professional career in Latin American dancing and discovering he is void of rhythm and dances like a white boy @damo_jeffery insists on doing a pre ride/race salsa to prove all the haters wrong, he's got groove. Unsure if he's proving them wrong or right 🤔
We love you with or without rhythm @damo_jeffery and want to throw a huge shout out to you for all your efforts in making the Tweed Camp such a hit! Lucky he doesn't ride a bike the way he dances 😂 #coachisgoingtomakeuspayforthis#whatalegend#attitudeofgratitude#tweedendurotraining#sbtc_greenarmy
A select group of individuals come to Hawaii to test themselves - against this legendary island, and the iconic sporting event that matches it in might and prestige. This is the 2017 IRONMAN World Championship.
Ufaaaaaa!!! Vencendo a preguiça pra ver o sol nascer assim! 💕 #GoBrügger
