Judging others doesn’t define who they are...it defines who YOU are.
This is a hard pill to swallow and most just won’t. It’s definitely not easy for me to do.
There’s a saying in the spiritual/metaphysical community that says, “If you spot it, you got it.” Basically: if there is something that you’re judging someone else for, or something that really bothers you about THEM, it’s something you need to address within YOURSELF.
So there are some things I can easily say, “Yeah okay, I can see that in me” but there are definitely other things that I am still refusing to see or accept about myself 🙈🙉🙅🏽♀️
Someone told me that things we see that we don’t necessarily like about other people could be some personal trait that we have previously dealt with. I am not sure, I am still working through it. The main thing I question is abusive behaviors or personality disorders: if I recognize those in someone, does that mean that I have those traits as well?? That’s the hardest part for me in reconciling that “spot it, got it” statements.
I’ve really been feeling free lately by NOT judging people (as much). I have found that I’m typically not judgmental of women or male friends but super judgmental of lovers or those who have the potential of being lovers.
As always, it’s a process of self-discovery, awareness, and acceptance.
So to all my “woke” people, don’t get caught up with this “holier than though” superiority complex. It’s pure irony: we free our minds and bodies and then become slaves of our own egos. Lame.
Live and love freely ✌️✌🏽
